About Old Hat Deep Sea Fishing Charters: Charter Boat Captain Chad
| Hi I’m Captain Chad. I have been fishing my whole life, thanks to my father that competed and won many tournaments up and down the southeast coast. I am a Florida native that has grown up fishing these waters. I have grown up fishing tournaments with my dad up and down the coast also traveling all over the Bahamas and Mexico. Having fished tournaments, they have really made me a professional at live bait and kite fishing. Winning multiple billfish and IGFA tournaments I can say I have perfected these fishing methods. Right out of high school I started fishing professionally. I found fishing not just a hobby, but a way of life. While attending college I got offered a job on a charter boat out of Haulover. I started as a mate and gradually worked my way up the ladder. Getting my captains license at the age 21 made me the youngest captain to ever run a charter boat out of Haulover, and now the owner of the “Old Hat”. I have been fishing from Haulover Park marina for over 15 years now and love every day of it. During my charter fishing career, I have managed to catch unbelievable monster fish from giant Wahoo’s, to Blue Marlin, Massive Mahi, and much more…. Only a couple miles offshore looking over the beautiful Miami skyline. |
The “Old Hat” is a custom 41’ Hatteras Sportfishing Yacht, tournament rigged and ready to fish. It is powered by twin Cummins diesel engines. Electronics include: Color fish finder / sounder, GPS, and Radar to keep us out of the rain.
